    Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
    SALARY: $83,640-$100,000 dependent upon education and experience. Includes benefits package with $20,000 Life Insurance and Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with applicable co-pays.
    • Ensure compliance with all laws, policies, procedures, and work rules as it relates to the district.
    • Responsible for SAVE & PPEL project planning, bidding and implementation within jurisdiction such as major construction projects
    • Collaborate with architects, engineers and local officials to effectively plan and schedule projects
    • Attend and assist in facilitation of construction meetings
    • Participate in the preparation and management of line item budgets as related to improvement of facilities
    • Provides cost-benefit analysis for SAVE & PPEL projects as requested
    • Develop specifications for SAVE and PPEL projects ensuring all state, local and building codes are followed
    • Works with contractors, oversees PPEL and SAVE projects through completion
    • Reviews and initials all expenditures relating to SAVE and PPEL including change orders as necessary
    • Establish departmental goals, monitor progress and make changes to improve costs, quality and service
    • Manage/maintain all building plans, construction manuals and project documentation for SAVE & PPEL with assistance of secretarial staff
    • Modify and create computer aided drafting documents as needed
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, IAQ, federal, state and district regulations
    • Attend board meetings to discuss projects or related items around projects
    • Conduct periodic visits to all district buildings
    • Responsible for overseeing all life safety repairs and upgrades
    • Apply for project grants and rebates as applicable to project compliance
    • Responsible for ADA documentation and improvements
    • Maintain warranty information with the assistance of secretarial staff
    • Assist with and implement safety and security systems throughout district
    • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when working with confidential information
    • Serves as after hours contact person for emergencies
    • All other duties/directives as assigned by the Director of Operations, Superintendent, and/or his/her designee.
    Physical Requirements of Position:
    • Must be able to safely navigate all DCSD buildings and grounds
    • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs as DCSD has multi-level buildings with and without elevators
    • Must be able to lift up to 50#
    Minimum Qualifications Required:
    • BA in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field required
    • Experience with contractors and unions
    • 3-5 years of related experience
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, knowledge of terminology of building trade crafts
    • Experience in Computer Aided Drafting, Bluebeam and basic computer applications
    Special Qualification Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
    • Experience with adhering to policies, procedures, and proclamations related to public school operations
    • Other duties as determined by the Director of Operations, Superintendent, and/or his/her designee
